YSL’s must-have collector bottle!

Each summer, fragrance houses come out with summer editions of their most popular scents. Calvin Klein updates its Eternity franchise each April with beach-inspired packaging; Dolce & Gabbana offer their Mediterranean vacation scents; and Jean-Paul Gaultier dresses his Classique bottle in palm leaves and peacocks. Each is a little work of art.

But summer 2015 belongs to YSL’s spectacular Paris Premieres Roses Limited Edition scent. It’s a younger, fresher interpretation of the original eau de toilette scent boasting notes of wild rose, violet leaf, neroli, peony, lily-of-the-valley, white musk and sandalwood.

The packaging and bottle design are the brainchild of Japanese artist Que Houxo who studied at the Tama Art University in Tokyo.

He boasts an ultra-modern method of painting. He projects fluorescent painting on the walls, splashing flowers and using a specific light to reveal their intense colours.

It’s in effect, an explosion of fluorescent flowers dancing under UV lights. A handful of trend experts have identified Houxo as a rising star in the art world.

YSL Paris Premieres Roses Limited Edition arrives exclusively at Hudson’s Bay stores in Canada in mid-April.

I gave away one of these exquisite bottles to one lucky follower. Congrats to Sophie Marsolais! We drew her name at random from all the entries below.

Of course I’ve bought perfume because of the bottles. When they are empty I’ve used them for single flower vases. I wish I still had some of them.

No haven’t done so as of yet. I always smell them before buying because sometime looks can be deceiving.

I haven’t purchased perfume based on design of bottle. I would consider purchasing this if I like the Smell and would love to win a bottle.

I am very loyal to the perfumes I buy, Coach, Juicy Couture, Vera Wang, Clinique, etc… And they all have nice bottles, but there will be a special bottle that I just can’t live without on a perfume I don’t usually wear and before I know it my loyalty has grown by one.

I bought some no name brand of cologne in Paris because the bottle was pretty. Got home and found out the scent wasn’t that great so it just sits on my vanity looking pretty.

@strickerdiane2. Yes I have bought a fragrance just on the bottles appearance. If the bottle is vool or beautiful or eye catching in another way, why not

Pretty bottles and enticing names make me want to sample a perfume. I don’t buy unless it smells good on me.

An unusual perfume bottle shape absolutely catches my eye but I have to like the fragrance in order to buy it.

I’ve never bought a perfume because of it’s bottle design. I’ve always bought because of the fragrance itself. However, a unique and interesting bottle design means I’m more likely to smell it in the shop in the first place! @EmNelson3

OH MY GOD. so for my birthday right…? kidding. I’ve never bought based on the bottle (although if i had the money that may change with this bottle LOL) but I definitely am drawn to smell different perfumes based on the bottle and display the prettiest bottles first. One of my favorite perfumes, i HATE the bottle so I just let it hang out to the side lol

I can honestly say that I’ve stopped to smell a fragrance simply because I liked the design of the bottle but I’ll only buy if I like the scent.

I have not bought a fragrance solely by the looks of the bottle. I look to see what is in it. I am a musk, woodsy tipe of gal. Some perfumes give me headaches so I have to be picky. Samples are very helpful, so I can find out if I cam wear it or not !

I have bought purchased perfumes just because I loved the bottle. Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classiqu’s are my favourites.

I purchased Vera Wang’s lovestruck because I loved the bottle and Katy Perry’s Katy, as well. Luckily for me I enjoyed the scents too. The design on the bottle often is what catches my attention when shopping for new fragrances. I love this new bottle by YSL and if I’m not the winner I may very well go out and purchase it.

I have been drawn to fragrances based on the art, it draws me in. It’s been years ago, but there was an Escada bottle that was so bright and colorful, so I had to check it out. I did end up purchasing that bottle! But I’ll always smell it first, if I don’t like the scent I won’t buy it.
