Wishing New York fashion designer Ralph Lauren a very happy birthday. On Monday, Mr. Lauren will celebrate his 85th year having created one of the world’s truly iconic fashion and lifestyle brands. I had the honour of interviewing him years ago during New York Fashion Week and he was one of the most fascinating designers I’ve ever spoken with. He really approaches every single collection and product as a film director. He told me he imagines the customers in his mind, envisions their lives and then designs products to suit their lifestyle. It’s almost cinematic the way he speaks. He’s definitely introduced a collection of iconic fragrances throughout his career including the 1980s blockbuster Polo Green. It still smells incredible to this day. #davelackiebeauty

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Estee

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Estee Lauder is once again raising funds for critical research. I wanted to show you this cute set before it sells out. It’s the Bouquet of Strength Lip Collection Pink Ribbon Makeup Gift Set, a four-piece set that features a full-size Pure Colour Lipstick in shade Crystal Baby, deluxe travel size lip gloss in Pink Peony, Double Wear Stay-In-Place Lip Liner in Blush and a Pink Peony Mini Bag. Better yet, 100% of the retail price of $54 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation dedicated to advancing the world’s most promising research to eradicate breast cancer. The findings also help oncologists and doctors to better understand a wide range of cancers.

My husband has been fighting stage 4 melanoma cancer for the past year, so I spend a lot of time with him at Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre. And I can tell you firsthand how important this research is. And how hard the doctors and nurses work. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1992, has funded so many important discoveries that have saved and prolonged lives. It’s a wonderful charity.
