YSL’s must-have collector bottle!

Each summer, fragrance houses come out with summer editions of their most popular scents. Calvin Klein updates its Eternity franchise each April with beach-inspired packaging; Dolce & Gabbana offer their Mediterranean vacation scents; and Jean-Paul Gaultier dresses his Classique bottle in palm leaves and peacocks. Each is a little work of art.

But summer 2015 belongs to YSL’s spectacular Paris Premieres Roses Limited Edition scent. It’s a younger, fresher interpretation of the original eau de toilette scent boasting notes of wild rose, violet leaf, neroli, peony, lily-of-the-valley, white musk and sandalwood.

The packaging and bottle design are the brainchild of Japanese artist Que Houxo who studied at the Tama Art University in Tokyo.

He boasts an ultra-modern method of painting. He projects fluorescent painting on the walls, splashing flowers and using a specific light to reveal their intense colours.

It’s in effect, an explosion of fluorescent flowers dancing under UV lights. A handful of trend experts have identified Houxo as a rising star in the art world.

YSL Paris Premieres Roses Limited Edition arrives exclusively at Hudson’s Bay stores in Canada in mid-April.

I gave away one of these exquisite bottles to one lucky follower. Congrats to Sophie Marsolais! We drew her name at random from all the entries below.

I love it when the Scent can actually match the bottle. Scent and container are both a work of ART

Yes I have. One time I regretted it because I didn’t end up loving the scent, but the other times I really loved the fragrance too!

I bought Marc Jacobs’ “Daisy” because the flower and name matched my name…it became my only perfume choice for years. ^_^

When I’m picking a fragrance, the design of the bottle is what captures my attention. I buy it based on the way it smells though

I have been wearing the same parfume for over 10 years and am ready for a change! A pretty bottle is nice on the dresser but I just want a parfume that smells good. @JennTracy2

I have, but I have actually liked the smell as well. I wouldn’t buy perfume, just based on how the bottle looks.

I bought 3 Annick Goutal collector bottles that are stunning. This YSL seems wonderful too! Fragrance bottles can be small work of art.
