Which Dolce & Gabbana Fruit Collection fragrance is your favourite? Pineapple or lemon? Tell us and you could win both!

One of the most exciting fragrance projects of 2020 is Dolce & Gabbana’s Fruit Collection fragrances. The Italian design duo paid tribute to the mouthwatering marzipan confections found in tiny pasticceries throughout Sicily. These sugar creations are shaped into lemons, oranges and pineapples – and are proudly displayed in the café windows to entice tourists and residents. The marzipan Frutta di Martonara as they are called are beloved throughout Italy.

Dolce & Gabbana pay homage to this art with a trio of fruit-themed fragrances that sport spectacular caps shaped as lemons, oranges and pineapples. The fragrances are fresh and joyful built around the single fruit in nuanced layers.

Dolce & Gabbana Fruit Collection Pineapple
Pineapple is an exotic fruity-gourmand fragrance created by perfumer Marie Salamagne that perfectly captures the sweet tang of fresh pineapple. She blends juicy Sicilian mandarin oil with sun-soaked jasmine sambac and pure vanilla absolute. Then she finishes the composition off with orchid, amber and moss. The crisp pineapple is beautifully balanced with the floral notes – and the vanilla gives it warmth.

Dolce & Gabbana Fruit Collection Lemon
Lemon is described as a fresh, solar-fruity scent created by perfumer Jerome Epinette who takes inspiration from the markets of Palermo and the Sicilian lemon harvests. He establishes the fragrance as a classic Italian cologne with fresh lemon and Calabrian bergamot oils cold-pressed from the fruit zests. He then blends in lemon tree petitgrain distilled from the leaves. A splash of ginger essence adds a nice kick before a mossy drydown of Haitian vetiver and woody notes. It is refreshing and joyful.

THE GIVEAWAY: I gave away this pair of Dolce & Gabbana Fruit Collection fragrances to one lucky reader. To enter, I asked readers to tell me in a blog post comment below which of the two scents is their favourite and why? Brett M told us and we drew his name from all entries. Congrats Brett!

Dolce & Gabbana Fruit Collection fragrances are available at select Hudson’s Bay stores.

September 26, 2020 at 6:38 pmI would wholeheartedly vote for the lemon, as it’s one of my favourite scents, but the pineapple scent sounds fresh and unique (and I still have some lemon perfume I bought in San Marino). @thirstyjourneys

September 26, 2020 at 6:23 pmPineapple is one of my fav fruits so I’d have to go with the Pineapple scent. I love that it has floral & vanilla notes and love the bottle!

September 26, 2020 at 6:18 pmThis is an easy choice for me on so many levels – to start with i just love the flavours and scents of tropical fruits, and pineapple has a particularly evocative fragrance for me. On top of that the fragrance notes of mandarin oil, jasmine and vanilla are all scents which I gravitate towards, and which I feel suit me. Finally, when I think of pineapple, I think Hawaii, and i have this secret fantasy that I am a Hawaiian girl really! @princesspamma

September 26, 2020 at 6:14 pmWow I’ve been wanting to try these! Tough choice. Lemon would remind me of Italy but I don’t remember ever trying a fragrance with pineapple in it so I’d definitely try that one first. Thanks Dave!

September 26, 2020 at 6:14 pmI think I’d prefer the pineapple 🍍🍍. I’m sure the both smell amazing. But some lemon scents sometimes smell like lemon pledge, or various cleaning products.

September 26, 2020 at 5:55 pmA tough choice here! I am going to say Pineapple simply because it is sweet and fresh🍍

September 26, 2020 at 5:54 pmWould have instantly chosen the lemon. Just as it brought the instant idea of a zest for lift and not want to smell like a pineapple.
Yet nothing is that simple in perfume is it, reading that the pineapple has the vanilla, orchid and moss. Which makes me think of it being a hint musky and long lasting.
Perception totally changed!!!
Lemon – you still sound a dream and hopefully I’ll win you both. However, I never thought I’d say it but pineapple 🍍 sounds just the perfect punch!
