For anyone who is looking for a burst of vibrant colour during the dark days of winter, California-based beauty brand Urban Decay has just the answer. The edgy makeup brand has just launched its Wired Pressed Pigment Palette and it packs a punch of colour.

The 10-pan palette consists of six bold hues for face, body and eye – and four for face and body. What I love is there is a white pan called “Glitch”. Add a tiny bit to any of the other colours and you instantly create a soft pastel shade. So you can go bold or subtle depending on your mood or occasion.

The colour selection is carefully edited and clever. “Fluorescent” is a soft turquoise, “chaos” is a deep azure blue, “shock” is a fresh lilac, “current” is an emerald green, “jolt” is vibrant yellow, “gravity” is a strong purple, “savage” is a fuchsia pink, “switch” is a sunny orange and “slowburn” a true red. These are the perfect shades for festival season.

What’s great about this palette is the product is velvety-smooth. It delivers vibrant colour payoff while still being super blendable and buildable. Ask any makeup chemist and they will tell you this is very difficult to achieve. Colour pigment is difficult to formulate.

THE GIVEAWAY: I gave away an Urban Decay Wired Pressed Pigment Palette to one lucky reader. To enter, I asked readers to tell me in a blog comment below how they would rate this palette on a scale of 1 to 10. Kelsey M told us and we picked her name from all entries. Congrats Kelsey!

I would rate this a 9/10 because I’m not so sure about a blue eyeshadow. But I mostly wear brows and beige right now so I would love to try something new. @scarymary66

I would give it a 7 as I know I won’t be using some shades. But my daughter who loves music festivals in the summer would love it.

I definitely have to give it a 10 because it’s Soo multi- use and the “Glitch” literally turns it into a whole other 10 pan palette! Very clever!
