#BCAstrength Friends Supporting Friends Contest! One of the things I’ve learned over the past two years on Twitter is that every cancer survivor that has shared his or her story with me counts a host of family, friends and caregivers that helped them beat this disease. Some sit with them during doctor appointments. Others take care of their kids during chemo treatments. And some just check in regularly on social media with a kind word of support. Over and over I hear the message that they couldn’t do it alone.
I remember one woman telling me that it was the friends she had made on Twitter that gave her the strength to go through the chemo treatments. When she was feeling badly, she’d log onto Twitter and her friends would cheer her up.
The Giveaway: For this reason, I’m giving away this double set of #BCAstrength Pink Ribbon items on my blog. One set is for that person that has really helped you through a difficult time. That may be breast cancer or it can be any illness or difficulty. And the second set is for you. Tell me in a blog post comment below who you’d like to thank with one of these sets. On October 31st, I drew the name Natasha from Canada from all the entries. Thank you to everyone who shared their incredible stories. You are all heroes to me.
You can also help support the fight against breast cancer by visiting BCAcampaign.com. Post a video, photo or message and the Estee Lauder Companies will donate $25 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This will fund 30 minutes of breast cancer research.
“We have accomplished so much, but there’s still a lot of work ahead of us to make breast cancer a thing of the past,” says Elizabeth Hurley, Global Ambassador of the BCA Campaign. “Simple gestures, from reminding your friends to schedule their annual health appointments to making a donation in a loved one’s honour to supporting lifesaving research, can go a long way. When we join together and take action together for a common goal, we really can accomplish anything.”

October 24, 2015 at 8:43 pmSadly there has been breast cancer in our family. I would give my daughter one of the collections, so she can wear to keep awareness out there, and a reminder to her, that it is imperative that she does self examinations and goes for Mammograms and her physical every year. I love her dearly, and she is the Mom of our sweet little 2 year old grandson Mason. He needs his Mama and we need our daughter….. <3

October 24, 2015 at 1:12 pmI have really bad anxiety and am 4 years into recovery. My mom and daughter are the reasons I pull through, every time. My mom is who I would give this to. My Twitter name is @CaitlynS412 Mental illness and addiction are real illnesses and I am so glad that, at least here in the states (idk about elsewhere), they’re finally being treated with the urgency that they require. Thanks Dave!

October 24, 2015 at 10:18 amI have been chronically ill for 25+ years, and apart from my brilliant better half, it was my sister who was there for me through the worst times, who took me to doctors and hospital appointments, did my shopping and household chores and raised my daughter as well as doing everything for her own family. My sister has since moved further away, but I haven’t forgotten that she was always there for me, supportive, comforting, reassuring. I could never thank my sister enough for all she did to raise my daughter, but a lovely set of Pink Ribbon beauty goodies would be a nice way to thank her for her help and support over the years. Like many, our circle of family and friends have been affected by Cancer and we support this campaign.
