#BCAstrength Friends Supporting Friends Contest! One of the things I’ve learned over the past two years on Twitter is that every cancer survivor that has shared his or her story with me counts a host of family, friends and caregivers that helped them beat this disease. Some sit with them during doctor appointments. Others take care of their kids during chemo treatments. And some just check in regularly on social media with a kind word of support. Over and over I hear the message that they couldn’t do it alone.
I remember one woman telling me that it was the friends she had made on Twitter that gave her the strength to go through the chemo treatments. When she was feeling badly, she’d log onto Twitter and her friends would cheer her up.
The Giveaway: For this reason, I’m giving away this double set of #BCAstrength Pink Ribbon items on my blog. One set is for that person that has really helped you through a difficult time. That may be breast cancer or it can be any illness or difficulty. And the second set is for you. Tell me in a blog post comment below who you’d like to thank with one of these sets. On October 31st, I drew the name Natasha from Canada from all the entries. Thank you to everyone who shared their incredible stories. You are all heroes to me.
You can also help support the fight against breast cancer by visiting BCAcampaign.com. Post a video, photo or message and the Estee Lauder Companies will donate $25 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This will fund 30 minutes of breast cancer research.
“We have accomplished so much, but there’s still a lot of work ahead of us to make breast cancer a thing of the past,” says Elizabeth Hurley, Global Ambassador of the BCA Campaign. “Simple gestures, from reminding your friends to schedule their annual health appointments to making a donation in a loved one’s honour to supporting lifesaving research, can go a long way. When we join together and take action together for a common goal, we really can accomplish anything.”

October 19, 2015 at 11:01 amI would love to share with my Mom’s best friend, who was an amazing support for me this past August when my Mom lost her 15 year battle with breast cancer and passed away. I don’t know how I could have handled everything on my own, without her. @christinaleek

October 19, 2015 at 10:58 amI would definitely give this set to my mother who helped me amazingly when I experienced major problems during my pregnancy, expecting triplets, loosing 2 of them and the 3rd baby being born premature with me having pre-eclamsia and getting bells palsy on 36 weeks. This was the most difficult time in my life – but I survived with the help of my MOM. @Tania18415118

October 19, 2015 at 10:41 amI’d share this with my best friend, Jacqui. She’s helped me and my health more Han she will ever know. She’s the one that took me to the hospital the night I wanted to end my life. She continued to help me with my mental illness even when I was miserable to be around. She never stopped inviting me out, even after I continued to turn down her invitations.
I can’t explain enough how wonderful she is.

October 19, 2015 at 10:29 amI recently met another blogger and she’s been really supportive even though she lives in the UK and I live in the US. I suffer from depression and breast cancer no this hard on me. I would really like to give her something for being a great friend. It would be a late birthday present for her or early Christmas present I guess. Thanks for such great giveaways.
