Which #StarbucksAtHome coffee blend & beauty look is for you? (Enter to win this deluxe set!)
When it comes to makeup trends, neutrals are perennial bestsellers! I’ve sat in beauty company boardrooms where product managers have dreamt up every variation on the word coffee to describe their neutral palettes: Coffee, mocha, espresso, latte, morning brew, cafe au lait….the list goes on. What is interesting is these colours and names appeal to consumers around the world. And the beauty chemists in the labs are constantly tweaking these colours to flatter the most number of skin tones. One scientist told me recently that the eyeshadow shades today are far more wearable than those 5 years ago. That is because they have been using cutting edge optic technology to create the trued payout in colour. There is a lot of science behind makeup today.
To celebrate this trend, I thought it would be fun to take three different #StarbucksAtHome coffee blends and pair them with complementary beauty shades and looks. From pale nude to deep chocolate, there is a look and coffee for everyone. Better yet, one reader is going to win the entire set. Starbucks True North Blend with Burberry Beauty
This is a very mellow, smooth coffee that is idea for anyone who has never drunk coffee before. Named by Canadians for Canadians, True North is roasted from specially selected Latin American beans for a shorter time to highlight the exquisite notes of rich cocoa and toasted nuts. It is a great commuter coffee in the morning. To complement this mild coffee blend, I’ve chosen Burberry’s Complete Eye Palette in Mocha No2 with four neutrals that range from soft ivory to chocolate. It is paired with Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet in Light Nude. This look works for anyone who favours a modern nude beauty look.
Starbucks Pike Place Blend with Bobbi Brown Beauty
Pike Place, named after the neighbourhood where the first Starbucks opened in Seattle, Washington, is a medium roast coffee with a smooth, rich flavour. It is made of predominantly Latin American beans for mild-bodied flavour. It is a great morning coffee. To complement this coffee blend, I’ve selected Bobbi Brown’s Nectar and Nude Eye Palette. This is the perfect everyday palette for soft neutral shadows. To add a little pop, I’ve added in Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour in Neutral Rose. This balances the eye look nicely by giving a little focus to the makeup design. Bobbi used to buy art supply paint trays and mix her own shades in her home long before she launched her signature beauty company.
Starbucks Caffe Verona with Dior Beauty
Caffe Verona is famous for being paired with chocolate and sweet desserts. It is a bold and sweet coffee blend with beans from Latin America and Asia Pacific – with a 20 percent Italian roast. There are stories that this blend has been part of Starbucks since 1975. Regardless, it is one of the most popular Starbucks coffees today. With such a rich coffee, it only made sense to pair it with Dior’s sumptuous 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Hypnotize. These are luxe shades of chocolate, gold and ivory and work on most skin tones. Rouge Dior in Enigmatic is the ideal lip colour. Such a deep, rich shade that feels weightless on lips.
Big congrats to Ana Liza B from Newfoundland. We drew her name from all entries!
