shu uemura collector eye shadow palette giveaway!
Japanese artistry makeup brand shu uemura is one of my favourite beauty brands. Not only does it offer excellent quality, but it excels with its creative collaborations and shade choices. This brand thinks outside the box with each new launch which is why I feature it so often on Cityline. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to watch a shu makeup artist from Japan apply makeup you’ll know how precise the placement of colour is. These artists approach makeup like a fine artist does working on a portrait or oil painting. It is remarkable to watch.
One of my favourite shu collaborations was with Japanese athletic brand Onitsuka Tiger, known for its volleyball footwear. It was bold, energetic and youthful.
“When this collaboration was started, what came up in my mind is the healthy and active women wearing bright colour makeup back in the 1980s, reflecting the time of the fitness boom,” explains Uchiide, Shu Uemura International Artistic Director. “It was the proposal of the founder Mr. shu uemura’s beauty look. I feel that beyond the limit looks similar in its expression, and its spirit is to challenge the limits and elevate its height, and to cheer the ones who challenge to elevate their beauty. Bold-coloured makeup inspired by Onitsuka Tiger’s spirits and stripes will certainly bring your beauty to new heights.”
A Collector Eye Palette with Energy and Spirit: Beyond the Limit
This special shu uemura eye palette featured eight carefully curated shades to help you create daring and fashionable summer looks that go beyond your imagination. You’ll notice that a pop of indigo blue and summer orange is balanced with softer neutral shades. There is a mix of glitter, pearl and matte textures to play with. It comes in a sleek zip compact decorated with the Tiger racing stripes.
THE GIVEAWAY: I gave away a shu uemura x Onitsuka Tiger Eye Palette in “Beyond the Limit” to one lucky reader. To enter, I asked readers to tell me in a blog comment below how they would rate this palette on a scale of 1 to 10. Louisa W from the UK told me and I drew her name from all entries. Congrats Louisa!

June 16, 2021 at 12:57 pmI would rate this eye palette a 10/10. Gorgeous colours to wear since all focus is still on our eyes. I would use the bolder colours as an eye liner as suggested by another person as I am older. I also have a daughter that would be elated to have this palette if my chance that I won. Dave, you always have the best giveaways @959angela Good luck everyone.

June 16, 2021 at 12:27 pmI’d give this an 8, because although I love the packaging and most of the colours, a couple of them are a bit bold for me (I’m old). But, if I won this, I’d give this to my niece, who LOVES all things Japanese and would rock these colours! @ellthom

June 16, 2021 at 11:12 amI’d give this a 9 – only one colour I’d hesitate to wear on my eyes (the dark red – it might enhance bloodshot eyes after staying up too late *lol*) – love the rest of them!
