Such a fun morning celebrating the launch of Carolina Herrera’s La Bomba Eau de Parfum. Industry experts predict this amber-floral fragrance for her will be one of the biggest global scent launches of 2026. (It’s already sold out at Sephora in Canada). The addictive fragrance was created by perfumers Christophe Raynaud, Quentin Bisch and Louise Turner and blends notes of dragon fruit (pitaya), red peony, frangipani, vanilla and patchouli to beautiful effect. The butterfly-shaped bottle is striking and surprisingly heavy – it a quality flacon. I learned today that the name was a nickname iconic American Vogue Editor Diana Vreeland gave to Carolina because of her lively personality. Why is it that ultra-prestige skincare brands are launching anti-aging serums and creams formulated around rose ingredients? That’s because genus Rosa has one of the most complex genomes in the plant world. Roses boast multiple chromosome sets and have been proven to have remarkable repairing qualities in human skin. They have a very high antioxidant content (vitamins A, C and E) which neutralize free radicals, boosts collagen production and intensely hydrates fine lines. Sisley Paris is tapping Black Rose with a new concentrate that contains an anthocyanin concentrate, the result of 100 petal extraction tests.
