Kiehl’s + Peter Max (win it) Popular American apothecary skincare brand Kiehl’s has partnered with pop art icon Peter Max for a limited edition collection for holiday 2015. Here’s the background on the project.
Brand: Kiehl’s
City: New York City
Holiday Collection: Kiehl’s x Peter Max
The artist: Peter Max
American pop artist Peter Max
Background: Max is a German-born, New York-based artist who rose to fame when his colourful, psychedelic art captured the imagination of the 60s generation. Appearing on the cover of Life magazine, and on the Johnny Carson and Ed Sullivan shows, Peter was considered the visual arts counterpart to the music of the Beatles. The eye-popping creations have appeared on a Continental 777 super jet, a Norwegian Lines cruise ship, and a postage stamp. He’s most closely associated with the Woodstock generation thanks to his bold use of colour.
Musical connection: His work was brought to the MTV generation in the 1980s when it was featured in the music video for Missing Persons’ Surrender your Heart single.
Artistic partnerships: Kiehl’s has a long-standing heritage of working with a different artist each holiday season to create artwork to adorn the brand’s most popular products. Past campaigns have included Jeff Koons, Kenny Scharf, Eric Haze and Craig & Karl.
The inspiration: This year’s artwork is inspired by Max’s legendary work “The Cosmic Runner” and boasts sunsets over mountains, rolling landscapes, and puffy clouds. His ironic “Holiday Flyers” dance across the sky through his signature vibrant colour palette.
The Kiehl’s x Peter Max Collection:
Crème de Corps (original formula), 500 ml,
Crème de Corps Whipped Body Butter, 226 g
Ultra Facial Cream, 125 ml
Richly Hydrating Hand Creams
Kiehl’s Lip Balm Set
Gift Sets
The giveaway: I’m gave away this trio of Kiehl’s x Peter Max items to one lucky reader. We drew the name Mrs White from Ontario. Big congrats!!!

November 27, 2015 at 2:34 pmOMG this is FANTASTIC!!! The psychedelic packaging is so up my Daughter’s street, I know she’d be over the moon if she had it on show in her bathroom. It’s like seeing her songs in a physical form if that makes any sense lol. She’s currently a Lush fiend but would take her to a whole new level. Love it! @dunabeach
