One of the biggest surprises for me when I first joined Twitter two years ago was how many truly lovely people I met. I’ve told the story several times that I resisted joining social media as the editors in my city used it to show how fabulous they were. It came across to me as bragging and I didn’t want anything to do with that. Thankfully my friend Heather convinced me to join and I was immediately taken on how many great people are on Twitter. I met Nina Westbury (@ninawmakeup) on Twitter when she won one of my contests. She gave me the wrong address to her house twice!! I discovered the Bridgette Jones of Beauty through social media. She’s become such a dear friend. She makes me laugh so hard with her misadventures and the stories she makes up about me. My favourite was when she told everyone I insisted her son play the harp at our events. There are so many others I’ve met. It would take pages to list them all. But I’m so grateful to have met each of you.
There were so many people who shared their incredible stories below. If you get a chance, read through them. They’re heartwarming. Everyone had a great story. I drew from all entries below and Stacy Bauer from the U.S. was the winner. Big thanks to all who entered!

In fact, we have never even met in person, but her tweets drove me to her like a magnet when I first started Twitter. She ALWAYS has something either educational, inspirational, quirky, beautiful or just a straight up tear-jerker… I always love checking her account for something that will speak to me. Over the years, we have become close and she’s one of the few people I trust with advice and keeping my mind & soul on track. When I first joined twitter years ago, slightly intimidated by it all as I wasn’t exactly in the first flush of youth, Lucy was the first person I interacted with. She is so warm, kind and caring and was so supportive when my dog passed away. She is also very bright. loyal and ever so funny! A very lovely lady who rightly deserves the popularity she has and is one of the main reasons that years later I’m still here tweeting away.

I mean, what day is it? What time is it? What am I wearing? You know the drill. Twitter is a vibrant community full of a gazillion ‘most interesting person in the world.’ — and even the ones who may not be are our teachers! We learn patience, decorum, and ‘the right well to tell a joke’ from them. So, you see, everyone has value. Not in an “Everybody gets a trophy” kind of way, but value, nonetheless.
So the short answer is, my favorite on Twitter IS Twitter!! Every last bit of it 🙂

We have never met and we come from completely different worlds and cultures yet she is my sister, I know no matter what is going on in my life she will be there, she wont judge, she wont get angry with me. My #FF sweetest person on Twitter would have to be a work colleague of mine Roxy @go_BeyondBeauty , we have been working together now for just under 2 months , she is sweet bubbly and effervescent.
On the days when I’ve lost my sparkle and feel my age , her jokes , giggles and cute little emo messages make me smile and make my world a little brighter. Roxy is a beauty junkie on a budget (just like me) and these spoils for us are almost unobtainable so it would be the ultimate spoil.
It’s not often you get to find a friend a colleague , a co-conspirator and beauty junkie rolled all in one … how I would love to put a smile on her face and brighten her day too.

April 24, 2015 at 7:49 amkindest person I know is @tb5977 she always sticks up for the underdogs always start their day and ends are day with a beautiful motivating quotation she is a kind big heart and she donated her time and money to various charities she’s helped get a mother breast milk here on Twitter she’s just got such a big dynamic heart. She works down in DC in homeland security and helps keep us all safe. When 911 happened she was one of the first ones to step up as a civilian and contact peoples family and coordinate things. She deserves this more than anyone else I know. & I was glad least get mine and hand her this prize.

I feel I have known her most of my life and we have developed a great friendship. She would do anything in the world for anyone if she was capable of doing so. I became friends with her about 8 years ago I do think it has been. We had a lot in common & just hit it off and our friendship has been strong every since. She became sick a few years back and has been fighting Sarcoidosis since. It has taken a toll on her body, not to mention she had to have numerous back surgeries just this past year and is getting ready to have to have another one, and if anyone deserves a win like this it would be her! And after her then I would pick you Dave as you have a kind gentle soul yourself but I can not nominate you as you are the one giving it away. 🙂
