One of the biggest surprises for me when I first joined Twitter two years ago was how many truly lovely people I met. I’ve told the story several times that I resisted joining social media as the editors in my city used it to show how fabulous they were. It came across to me as bragging and I didn’t want anything to do with that. Thankfully my friend Heather convinced me to join and I was immediately taken on how many great people are on Twitter. I met Nina Westbury (@ninawmakeup) on Twitter when she won one of my contests. She gave me the wrong address to her house twice!! I discovered the Bridgette Jones of Beauty through social media. She’s become such a dear friend. She makes me laugh so hard with her misadventures and the stories she makes up about me. My favourite was when she told everyone I insisted her son play the harp at our events. There are so many others I’ve met. It would take pages to list them all. But I’m so grateful to have met each of you.

So gratefully one day a friend @fathima_khan wormed her way into my brain and sat wid me downloaded twitter and literally showed me how it works. Im still new into it couple months now and i am loving every bit of it . It a very very informative plattform which i am truly thankful for. And through my journey a am already meeting wonderful people who i learn new things from daily like you dave. Not too mention the giveaways on twitter are awsome and i am praying that some day i win something from you or any other giveaways. Twitter deserves an award for the most informative social media site.

April 28, 2015 at 10:20 amLast year I met @gegraves on Twitter, we were both entering competitions due to our obsession with all things beauty. As we began chatting more, we learned that we were spending so much time on Twitter because our lives had halted due to serious events. Mine due to losing my beloved Mum so suddenly, and hers after a serious knee injury left her virtually immobile awaiting an operation.
Well, nearly a year on and I’m looking forward to a move to Brighton and the next chapter of my life. Gemma has had her surgery and recently walked without crutches for the first time since her injury! Still a way to go for both of us but we’ve supported each other and become dear friends despite being from opposite ends of the UK!
It’s been lovely to share this, Dave.
