Are you Dior Exuberante or Eclectic? (tell us & win) To say there was a lot of anticipation within the beauty industry for Peter Philips first full makeup collection would be an understatement. Philips has long been one of the world’s top makeup artists and a favourite of beauty editors thanks to his charm and sweet personality. He had most recently been designing makeup collections for Chanel before his good friend Raf Simons convinced him to join Dior as Creative and Image Director.
Dior’s Fall Look 2015 makeup collection is called “Cosmopolite” and it is the first time we’re seeing a full beauty collection from Philips under the Dior brand. He didn’t disappoint. I’ve been raving about the Dior Addict Fluid Shadows for weeks (even on Cityline). The “eye varnish” as he describes it, creates a mirror effect on the eyelid. It’s pretty innovative.
Of course, no Dior collection is complete without a collector palette. And for Fall 2015, there are two: 766 Exuberante and 866 Eclectic.
“I played with a makeup effect that produces an alluring intensity regardless of skin tone, regardless of whether the eyes are light or, just the opposite, deep and dark,” he says. “These shades can be endlessly combined and adjusted to strike the perfect balance between natural and sophisticated, for renewed beauty in the wake of summer.”
766 Exuberante
Exuberate is based around the golden shade. The 5 Couleurs palette contrasts its warm tones with a denim blue and amber beiger. In the centre, the pearlescent shade boasts a luxe, creamy texture
866 Eclectic
Eclectic is based around the silver shade. A cooler colour with an organic elegance teams with a moss green, a frosted brown and a passionate burgundy. It’s a clear and concise colour scheme where any combination can be either elaborate or simple. It just depends on your mood.
I gave away both palettes to one lucky winner. We drew the name Tracy Noll from the U.S. from all those who commented below. Congrats Tracy!
