A High Protection Sun Oil! French luxury beauty brand Clarins has been researching sun protection for more than 30 years. And this summer, the brand is launching a innovative sun care product that offers a number of benefits. It’s a transparent, dry oil with both UVA and UVB protection that leaves no oily feel at all. (It feels like a light, scented mist when you spray it.)Tapping Clarins’ expertise in skincare, the formula incorporates nyamplung oil, a sacred tree in Indonesia. This oil is long known to nourish skin and hair. It contains omegas-6 and 9 and fatty acids to embellish skin and hair.
The second powerful plant extract in this sun protection oil is from a shrub called Senna, originally found in tropical America. It’s golden yellow flowers only open in sunlight. Clarins’ researchers discovered that the leaves are rich in flavinoids and tannins which protect DNA from changes caused by UV rays. This is a big breakthrough in UV protection research.
Scientists have long looked to another powerful plant to help in the fight against free radicals. The bark of the Plane tree increases cells’ abilitiy to resist free radicals generated by UV rays. It does this by reinforcing the protection of cellular membranes against the oxidation process by these free radicals. Added aloe vera helps to calm and soothe skin. Aloe has been used by indigenous healers for years.
The fact that Clarins has created a high protection sun oil is a feat in itself. But add in the fact that this formula protects hair from the sun’s harmful effects and the drying effects of sea salt. Since it is so lightweight, it doesn’t weigh down hair or make it feel oily. The oil is gently scented with an exotic scent containing notes of citrus, mandarin, blackcurrant, kiwi, mango, jasmine, violet, sandalwood, and amber.
As an added bonus, this fresh, lightweight mist helps to boost the look of a radiant tan, leaving skin satin-smooth. It’s water resistant for 40 minutes and perspiration resistant making it ideal for outdoor activities.

No one believes I am my age and I always get pegged for at least 10 years younger, even when I’m not wearing a ton of makeup.I actually wear a hat but I’d much rather have a good hair day and use THIS!!

I remember the days when baby oil was what we used for tanning. I think the oil would help with the drying of your skin that happens after a dip in the pool.

The fact that this protects hair too is a real bonus, chemo has left my poor hair in a shocking state. I’m off to Dubai later this year, hopefully I’ll be able to find some of this before I go. @ElaBluEyes
