October 24, 2017 at 11:08 pmWow! Well, after reading that, I would have to say that there is no-one in the world I’d rather give this pink ribbon set to than my Aunt Terri. She was the 2nd person I called when I read my story about mom. She is so great, Dave, you would LOVE her! My mom was a sophomore in high school when my aunt Terri was born. My mom was NOT happy about this! But my aunt LOVED it! She said the greatest day of her life was when she got to carry the pillow with the crown on it for when my mom was Homecoming Queen. She has some of the greatest stories ever about my mom! So when my mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer, it hit my aunt really hard. So hard in fact, even though my aunt did not have the specific gene associated with breast cancer, she had lost her grandmother, and her sister to breast cancer. My aunt is the most active woman in the world! She is a runner, and snow skis, Soulcycles, triathlons, tennis, golf, does Hot yoga, and so many other great sports and activities. My aunt has always had a tall, very slender, athletic build. She did not have big breasts like my mother. She would say she was flat as a board. But the size of her breasts did not mean that cancer could not still siege havoc on them, too, one day. So my aunt, being her usual, never plan ahead, does what want, whenever she wants, booked herself a double mastectomy and had both her baby girls removed. Yes, she had recovery surgery to fix them for ascetic purposes. She said she could have gone bigger, but she went with what made her feel beautiful; herself. There’s no better love than self love. It is how all other love is possible. My aunt has shown me nothing but kindness, grace, and so much love, there’s not enough room for me to share it all here. Always, Jamie xoxoJJ
