I was so excited to learn that I’ve interviewed the perfumer of the NEW Dolce & Gabbana fragrance. Olivier Cresp is a master perfumer who has composed some of the famous fragrances of the past 50 years. He was born in Grasse, France in 1955 and grew up watching both his father and grandfather trade in the raw materials used in making perfume. He became a perfumer in 1975 carefully learning and perfecting the art of perfumery. I just learned that his sister, Francoise Caron, is also an accomplished perfumer. What a family! Oliver is the brainchild behind Thierry Mugler’s Angel, Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue and YSL’s Black Opium.

Cresp’s latest creation is Dolce & Gabbana’s MY DEVOTION Eau de Parfum Intense with Vanilla and Peony. It is a luminous floral-gourmand fragrance for her that opens with airy pear blossom and juicy cassis. Soon a floral bouquet unfolds: peony and orange blossom. But it is the Madagascar vanilla that takes center stage with a rich warmth. This is a chic and elegant floral that will appeal to a wide range of tastes and styles. #davelackiebeauty

Did you know that Mother's Day is the second biggest occasion for beauty and fragrance sales behind Christmas. Consumers will spend over $34 billion on Mother's Day in 2026 spending an average of $260 each. Here are a few ideas to inspire you:

Carolina Herrera La Bomba Eau de Parfum, 50 ml, $172
La Bomba is expected to be one of the biggest women’s fragrance launches for 2026. It’s an amber-floral fragrance for her that blends notes of dragon fruit, cherry peony, frangipani, vanilla and patchouli.

Canadian beauty entrepreneur Elizabeth Arden was an industry pioneer in so many ways. Not only did she bring the whole spa experience to new levels with her Red Door Spas, she incorporated fragrance into her treatments from day one. The perfumes she used were originally imported from France but that changed in 1934 with the debut of her first signature fragrance Blue Grass, a floral-green scent 1934 inspired by the Kentucky horse pastures she loved. She was, in fact, among the first cosmetic firms to create and sell her own fragrances. The success of Blue Grass led to a series of floral scents that continues to this day.

Eternal Aura is Arden’s first pillar fragrance in nine years. It’s an amber-floral fragrance for her that layers notes of dragon fruit, pink pepper, pear, magnolia, pink peony, jasmine sambac, rose, ambrette, sandalwood and tonka bean. It balances luminous fruity and floral ingredients with a polished woody-amber base.

Green Tea strawberry basil is a carefree, weekend scent. It’s an aromatic-green scent that blends herbal notes, straweberry, basil, green ivy, green tea accord, galbanum and musk. Perfect for a summer afternoon. Green Tea Scent Spray plays with many of the same ingredients but with added citrus.
