One of the biggest surprises for me when I first joined Twitter two years ago was how many truly lovely people I met. I’ve told the story several times that I resisted joining social media as the editors in my city used it to show how fabulous they were. It came across to me as bragging and I didn’t want anything to do with that. Thankfully my friend Heather convinced me to join and I was immediately taken on how many great people are on Twitter. I met Nina Westbury (@ninawmakeup) on Twitter when she won one of my contests. She gave me the wrong address to her house twice!! I discovered the Bridgette Jones of Beauty through social media. She’s become such a dear friend. She makes me laugh so hard with her misadventures and the stories she makes up about me. My favourite was when she told everyone I insisted her son play the harp at our events. There are so many others I’ve met. It would take pages to list them all. But I’m so grateful to have met each of you.

April 24, 2015 at 1:38 pmI have to say that I started on Twitter to play contests and take my mind off of my personal health issues (I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2006, and over the years other health issues like diabetes, bursitis and arthritis in my neck, which have taken over my life). I came across @bredanielle0602, who plays contests from a mutual Twitter group we are in. She tags me in a lot of things and has the kindest words for me. She genuinely has a kind heart, and is the type of person that is happy for your win— even if that makes her the loser. So, I recommend Ms. Breanna P. (@bredanielle0602). She’s really hard working, and still finds the time to do her instruction videos, and doesn’t have any bias towards any particular brand. The cheaper brands get as much coverage as any other. We met on Twitter years ago and I know I can always count on her for help/advice, and just plain being a good loyal friend. I’d really love Lisa to win this because she fell a few months ago, broke her ankle on one leg, and her tibia (sp?) on the other leg and has not been able to walk for so long. She is now just beginning to heal, and although she still has weeks of healing and physical therapy to deal with, she has overcome the worst of it. I know some fresh new beauty products and colors for Spring and Summer is just what she needs to feel better and more confident and happy about herself! Thanks so much for the chance to enter.
