YSL has just unveiled a fresh glossy stain that packs bold pigment, delivers high shine and feels weightless on lips. It’s called Vernis A Levres Water Stain and 15 cutting-edge shades.
Unlike most lip stains on the market, this one is water-enriched with over 40% of the formula being water-based. The water molecules are paired with gliding oils for effortless application and a lightweight feel.
I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing several of YSL’s top makeup scientists over the years and their research and development labs are quite incredible. Quite often, the challenge is getting the balance of ingredients right. And the YSL chemists excel at finding innovative ways to make a product lighter and fresher. They often look to confectionary manufacturers for inspiration in terms of texture and colour. Yes, candy brands inspire makeup.
You’ll notice that even the applicator has been carefully designed to deliver the perfect amount of product on lips. This can actually take months to perfect. The curve of the applicator holds the ideal amount of stain to perfectly colour lips.
YSL Vernis A Levres Water Stain is available in Canada at Sephora.

September 5, 2019 at 2:35 amThis formula sounds amazing!! I can’t stand matte lipsticks because I have very dry skin due to medications. If I can get coverage like that with water, oil and stain I am so in. I love YSL lipsticks anyway because they feel good on my dry lips and have beautiful color.
