YSL Top Secrets: I’m always on the lookout for skincare products that offer great technology and amazing results. And there is a product that I find has flown under the radar. It really hasn’t received the attention it deserves: YSL Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow. I remember sitting in a marketing meeting with the YSL Beauty team over a year ago when they presented the concept for this moisturizer. The whole idea was to create a skincare product that worked in tandem with makeup. The YSL chemists worked for months on textures and finishes that would enhance and complement foundation, blush and bronzers. It was the first skincare designed from a makeup point of view.

This is really an ultra-lightweight blur perfecting moisturizer that promises to help hydration for up to 72 hours. It acts like an invisible foundation using optics to blur any imperfections and instantly creates the ideal canvas for makeup. It’s similar to a primer but with more hydration and lighter texture. “Within seconds of applying it, skin adopts the feel of softness of satin,” explains Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director of YSL Makeup.

Apply it all over the face before makeup to lock in moisture and create a smooth canvas for makeup. You can pat it on throughout the day whenever you need a burst of hydration. The original moisture glow has been such a success that YSL has added a host of additional items including a lip perfector. But I’m still most impressed with the original.
