Pro Makeup Artist Francois Nars wants to know if you’ll wear temporary tattoos this spring?
Francois Nars is taking inspiration from his beloved Tahiti (where he owns his own private island) for his Tahitian Bronze Last Resort Collection arriving on counters this week. Not only does he unveil a limited edition Laguna Bronzing Palette with his iconic Body Glow and Monoi Body Glow II, but he offers limited edition temporary tattoos. These rows of graphic bead and shark’s teeth can be applied to fingers, hands, arms and legs to create a Polynesian tattoo design.
Polynesians use two styles of tattoos. Etua, is the first and it has spiritual and religious significance through the use of magical symbols and icons that are used for protection from the Gods. The second, called Enata, is used to illustrate a person’s position in society. A symbol or design would show occupation, family, and social status. Most Polynesians use these symbols to depict courage, protection and power.
A jagged saw-tooth line, or shark’s teeth, symbolize protection. Sharks are considered sacred and creatures of power. This is a very popular design in tattoo artistry. If you see a turtle design on the other hand, that symbolizes longevity as turtles have a very long lifespan. And shells symbolize prosperity. These were said to bring wealth, fortune and well-being.
Each NARS Tattoo set comes with four sheets of limited-edition temporary tattoos. Create your own designs for wealthy, prosperity and protection this season.

March 4, 2015 at 12:12 pmThe tattoos are not something I’d like personally however the body glow products are suitable for everyone who’d like a year round sun kissed look.
