Versace Bright Crystal Fragrance Giveaway!
One of the big fragrance trends I’m seeing for 2020 is a renewed interest in yuzu notes. This is a small citrus fruit that smells a little like a grapefruit with a fresh, uplifting scent. It’s grown predominantly in Korea and Japan but it thrives in cooler climates so we’re seeing the trees and shrubs cultivated throughout Southern Europe now. Perfumers love the note as it is an alternative to using lemon, lime or mandarin notes. It gives a floral scent a modern citrus twist.

One of the most famous women’s fragrances that features yuzu is Versace Bright Crystal. Perfumer Albert Morillas and Donatella Versace selected the citrus note to be featured in Bright Crystal which debuted in 2006 and has since become a global bestseller. Morillas blended the yuzu with pomegranate, iced accord, magnolia, lotus, peony, vegetal amber, musk and mahogany to beautiful effect. It’s a light, fresh floral that is ideal for spring and summer.

THE GIVEAWAY: I gave away a bottle of Versace Bright Crystal to one lucky reader. To enter, I asked readers to tell me in a blog post comment below what their favourite note is in this scent. Mandy R told us and we drew her name from all entries. Congrats Mandy!

Versace Bright Crystal is available on thebay.com , sephora.ca, and shoppersdrugmart.ca
