I’ve always been a fan of Clinique’s Aromatics

I’ve always been a fan of Clinique’s Aromatics Elixir fragrance, a cult classic fragrance to combines over 700 ingredients to produce a chypre-floral aroma unlike any other. I still have a candle they produced many years ago that smells wonderful in winter. Created in 1975, the scent blends notes of lemon, chamomile, orange blossom, aldehydes, coriander, lemon verbena, oakmoss, vetiver and sandalwood among others. What I love about this new edition set is the fragrance has been extensively allergy tested. This is great news for anyone who is sensitive to scent. This just may be the most beautiful fragrance bottle I’ve seen this year. For holiday 2024, Guerlain has partnered with jewellery designer Shourouk Rhaiem, a Paris-based fine artist who takes inspiration from her travels in Tunisia, pop culture of the 80s and classic Hollywood films. She reinvents the iconic Guerlain Bee Bottle with a riot of vibrant Swarovski crystals in a variety of sizes and hues. The handcrafted process begins with painting the patterns on the bottle which are then covered with rhinestones. Each stone is placed by hand making every bottle one-of-a-kind.

“Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been lulled by the scent of Shalimar. It was my mother’s perfume and now it’s my Proust’s Madeline,” says Rhaiem. A very limited number of the Shalimar Bee Bottle by Shourouk Rhaeim 2024 are available through the Guerlain website. Truly sensational. #davelackiebeauty

UK-based celebrity makeup artist (and all around nice person) Lisa Eldridge has just launched her Rouge Experience Refillable Lipstick and it is beautifully designed. “In an age of fast fashion and even faster beauty, I’m genuinely excited to introduce my Rouge Experience Refillable Lipstick,” she explains. “Five years ago, I made it my mission to create a beautiful, truly luxurious, everyday lipstick with a world first, recyclable refill made entirely of aluminum.”

“I took design inspiration from the most iconic pieces in my vintage collection, many of which were considered radical for their time, and still appear as startingly modern, sustainable and enduringly beautiful today as the day they were made.

After multiple design and engineering iterations and many failed attempts, I began to understand why most refills are made with multiple materials, plastics or magnets – as they are much easier to produce…But ultimately it renders them non-recyclable.”

When I first started writing about beauty, the onl

When I first started writing about beauty, the only people that received press kits were beauty editors at fashion magazines. As the years went on, the kits announcing a makeup, skincare or fragrance launch became more and more elaborate. That is because this handful of beauty directors controlled what we saw and read and brands had to get their attention. A mention in Vogue could spur tens of thousands of dollars in sales at retail.

Fast forward to 2024 and social media has changed this practice. I’m thrilled to see that launch kits now go to women and men who are truly passionate about the products. When I watch certain influencers unbox these kits, I can see the excitement in their eyes and hear it in their voices. And that is what beauty is supposed to be: fun, exciting, joyful and creative.

I wanted to show you the latest generation of beauty influencer kit – this one promoting Bobbi Brown’s new Weightless Skin Foundation. The box comes with a sample of the foundation (which promises 24 hour moisture and wear), a Bobbi foundation brush (which is really good quality), the award-winning Vitamin Enriched Face Base and an Auto Face Tracking Desktop Gimbal. The latter is to help you create videos demonstrating the foundation. Very clever way to encourage social content. I’m sure this kit is going to make a lot of people very happy. #davelackiebeauty
