There is a brand new edition to the YSL Mon Paris fragrance family: Couture Eau de Parfum. It is an irresistible chypre floral citrus scent with a sparkling personality. It was created by master perfumers Dora Baghriche, Olivier Cresp and Harry Fremont – the trio who developed the original scent. This version opens with a familiar hit of bergamot, grapefruit and raspberry yet has an immediate difference thanks to a soft, watery freshness of lychee and mandarin notes. It’s a little sweet with a zingy bitterness. Soon, you smell the datura flower this time with a pretty rose infusion. It is delicate and warm. The dry down pairs patchouli, ambrox and white musk.
You’ll notice that the lavaliere tie on the bottle is given a bespoke, couture element. The playful polka dots are rendered in silver on a black satin bow. It’s a chic twist.
The Giveaway: I gave away a YSL Mon Paris Couture fragrance to one lucky newsletter subscriber. To enter, I asked readers to tell me in a blog post comment below what is their favourite note in the fragrance. Donna T told us and we drew her name at random from all entries. Congrats Donna!
