Sisley founder Hubert d’Ornano dies

89-year-old Count Hubert d’Orano, most famous for building luxury skincare brand Sisley into a global brand, has passed away. News came from the Le Figaro newspaper who reports a family funeral will be held in Bouges-le-Chateau in France. “Hubert d’Orano was one of the great pioneers of the cosmetics world,” said close friend Leonard Lauder to WWD. “He started Orlane and built it into a force in Europe and then the U.S. After the sale, he came back with Sisley. Both companies reflected the taste and passion of this man, who loved the cosmetics business.”
