shu uemura unveils a new lip lacquer technology that offers precise lip contour definition.
Japanese artistry makeup brand shu uemura has just relaunched its Laque Supreme lip collection with some very interesting technology. This is a brand that is built on precision. If you watch Uchiide, the brand’s international artistic director, he works in minute strokes and pin-point application. It really is remarkable to watch. He works more like a fine painter than a traditional makeup artist. His placement of colour on the face is carefully thought through and perfectly placed.
So it is no surprise to see shu launch a new laque supreme lip colour collection with cutting-edge technology from Japan. The goal of the brand’s research and development team was to offer high-shine, high colour and a precisely defined lip contour in a long-lasting formula. Shu red dye is an essential colorant used to provide a deep, yet vivid colour. Lumier coating polymers (used in pharmaceutical and food industries) provide a coating that results in a translucent shine. Now here is what is particularly interesting: the lip lacquer product transforms upon application from a highly concentrated oil-in-liquid emulsion to a honeycomb-type structure that lightly adheres to lips. It resists feathering or running. It is a more even structure on the lips. The result is a fresh, smooth application. Even the applicator is new. It has a unique ergonomic shape designed to fit the curves of the lips and a tapered tip for precise contouring.
