Burberry’s Holiday Collection

 

One of the luxe beauty brands that is exciting me most these days is Burberry Beauty. I had the opportunity to interview Wendy Rowe, the UK celeb makeup artist that works with Christopher Bailey creating each new collection. She talked about “effortless elegance”. That is how Bailey sees Burberry Beauty. So you’ll notice that each limited edition includes a nude colour story and one with more dramatic colour like Military Red or Oxblood. The quality of the formulas is very good and the packaging modern and sleek. Here’s the story behind the holiday collection.

Theme: Effortless Elegance. Rowe has taken the streamlined Burberry beauty look and updated it for the holidays thanks to gold accents. Lips are dressed in confident red or soft nude. The complexion is glowing and radiant. Eyes are adorned with gold or champagne. It’s modern and youthful in its attitude.

Collector Palette: This limited edition eye palette enhances eyes with a golden, illuminated look. You’ll find a luminising base to highlight, two buildable colours and an intense liner to define eyes

A Golden Glow: These limited edition illuminating powders only appear this time of year and this one is beautifully done. It’s a pressed powder infused with the notes of My Burberry Eau de Parfum. Use the brush provided to highlight cheekbones, shoulders and décolletage. What I love is this golden powder works on almost every skin tone. It’s truly universal beauty.

Gold Touch: This multi-use, pearlescent cream highlighter adds a delicate golden glow to eyes, lips and cheeks.

Focus lips: Keep the complexion neutral and play up your lips in either Parade Red or Gold Shimmer. Golden gloss applied over red lipstick creates a beautiful coral effect with dimension. It’s stunning!
