Paul & Joe Beauté creator Sophie Mechaly is having a cat moment. The Paris-based fashion designer and entrepreneur has quietly unveiled what could be the cutest limited edition colour collection of the season – a celebration of cats. It’s a carefully edited collection of eyeshadow, lipstick, eye palettes and a cosmetics mirror.

“It’s about having fun,” she says about her creations. “I don’t ask for advice. I just have things I love.” Having studied business at the University of Paris and technology at the Institut Francais de la Mode (IFM), she landed a coveted position working under famous fashion designer Azzedine Alaia. She took that experience and launched Paul & Joe in 1995 as a menswear company, naming it after her two sons. Womenswear followed and in 2002 she turned to cosmetics and beauty. The immediately took off thanks to its retro modern packaging and practical products.

Sparkling Eye Colour Limited Edition 2020

The sparkling eyeshadows come embossed with a charming cat face – guaranteed to make any makeup enthusiast smile. But the formula itself is worth noting.

These shadows are formulated with a gel base that contains a rich concentration of oils so that the product glides onto eyelids. It’s an intense pigment that resists humidity and perspiration.

The sparkling effect product can be layered for added impact.

Dress up lips with a swipe of glossy colour with the Limited Edition Lipstick L editions. Formulated with jojoba oil, macadamia nut oil and lavender oil, these hydrating lipsticks promise high shine and true colour.

The moisturizing colour core is enveloped in a clear glossy base formulated for long wear. You’ll notice there is a cat face embossed in the lipstick core.
