Maison Kitsuné x shu uemura

The Japanese artistry makeup brand has once again partnered with laid-back fashion brand Kitsuné for a limited edition colour collection.

Shu uemura has always been about bold colour and precise makeup techniques. Just take a look at the kaleidoscope of hues in the eye pencil range. It’s a riot of bold colour. They were one of the first brands to really champion pink eyeshadow and liners.

So when the brand announced a summer partnership with Kitsuné, I expected some vibrant shadows and lipsticks. What I got was much more sophisticated an interesting. The concept was to take the classic camouflage pattern and rework it for 2019. It’s a unique idea that is one of the most interesting collections of year so far.

Eye Camo

The star product is the Eye Camo Palette and it contains 12 shades in six different textures that allows you to design a myriad of looks. Not only do you find khaki, sand, amber brown and beige gold neutrals, but you see baked orange and gold – beautiful accent colours. The colours are carefully arranged to easily let you create a light to dark gradation. Simply select one key shade and then you’ll find the perfect complementary hues on both sides. You can work horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Brilliant!

Dress your lips in a rich matte hue in either rouge unlimited supreme matte or matte supreme lipsticks.

The brand has highlighted four star colours: berry camo, pink camo, red camo or orange camo. Choose from a total of 24 shades.
