MAC by Richard Quinn
Introducing one of the most exciting makeup collaborations of 2023: MAC by Richard Quinn. The carefully curated limited edition collection features the shades and products most loved by Quinn, adorned in floral prints and polka dots.
The buzz-worthy UK fashion designer caused a sensation when we convinced the late Queen Elizabeth II to sit front-row for his runway show during London Fashion Week. The artistry and skill he demonstrated led to receiving the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. (The Royal presented the award to the designer in person immediately following the show.) Two years later, Amal Clooney, wife of actor George Clooney, caused a sensation when she chose to wear a Quinn design to the Met Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, instead of a gown designed by Tom Ford’s fashion team.
Quinn was born in 1990 in London and studied fashion at the prestigious Central Saint Martins – graduating in February 2016. He’s known for his use of printed textiles that are bold and emotive. But it is his handcrafted skill and attention to detail that makes him exceptional. He creates couture-inspired sensibility with an edge. He’s definitely one of the new generation designers taking the world stage.
“I wanted to create a collection that reflects my love of English florals and Parisian couture,” says Quinn. “A signature to my design is that it’s always about colour and craftsmanship. Finish and detailing are so important to me as a designer, as well as exceptionally beautiful shades. The textures and finishes of the products in this collection were as perfectly crafted as the componentry, which brings my fashion designs to life in makeup form.”
“Richard Quinn’s uniqueness is his ability to take bold, overly feminine prints and still make the wearer feel strong, empowered and beautiful,” adds Dominic Skinner, MAC Senior Artist, UK and Ireland. “The new collection captures this vibe and will have you looking runway-ready, transporting you to the heart of London Fashion Week.”
You’ll find an exclusive duo of hero lipstick in cult-classic shades – Mehr and Lady Danger – dressed in the standout packaging that is such a key part of this collection’s appeal. Polks dots and blown-up florals collide across compacts and components in a manner as standout as you’d hope any Quinn design to be.
As for eyes, Quinn (who predicts classic 60s pastels as a major spring beauty trend) presents four all-new shades of MAC Colour Excess Gel Pencil Eye Liner, a repackaged MACStack Mascara and the Quinning Eye Shadow Palette – including the prettiests pearly pastels and an iridescent black as subversive wink.
