Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet Collector Miniature
When famed French fashion designer Christian Dior set out to create his first fragrance in 1947, he specifically asked for “a fragrance that smells of love.” The original creation was a fruity-chypre scent that was romantic and alluring. He loved it so much he would spray his salon with it before presenting his fashion shows. He pictured Miss Dior as the very soul of his dresses. No client left his famous salon without a spritz of his beloved fragrance. Since 1947, there have been more than 16 interpretations of the original – each reflecting the moods and spirit of the times.
Naming his first scent became a challenge. As he was preparing the launch of his first perfume, he had yet to find a name he loved. As he contemplated different names, his sister, Catherine Dior, entered the salon of 30 Avenue Montaigne. Dior’s muse, Mitzah Bricard, announced, “Here’s Miss Dior!” In a flash, he knew that was the perfect name. “Miss Dior”! The perfume became associated with Parisian high fashion. More than a litre of pure fragrance was sprayed every week within the house of Dior in Paris.
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a modern floral interpretation of the original that is inspired by the first days of spring. Dior Perfumer/Creator Francois Demachy blended the essence of peony refreshed with Sicilian mandarin, rose and white musk. “Peony is the very heart of the composition supported and shaped by peach and apricot zest. It’s timeless beauty has velvety and juicy shades,” he says.
You’ll notice a bow that adorns the neck of the bottle. That was a signature of Monsieur Dior’s gowns and dresses. The bottom of the bottle has a houndstooth pattern that represented Christian’s attention to tailoring. This architectural bottle debuted in 1950 as the designer wanted a geometric shape “cut like a suit.” It’s remained the shape of Miss Dior for more than half a century.
Diorshow Mascara Collector Mini
Diorshow remains one of the world’s most popular mascaras. It was inspired by famed makeup artist Pat McGrath in October 2002 when she used toothbrushes backstage at a Dior show to create a plush, fluffy base for false eyelashes on the designer’s catwalk models. The technique inspired Dior to introduce a limited-edition run of its “big brush” mascara. It sold out in literally minutes. And since then has been a bestseller to this day. (It’s won almost every beauty award on the planet.) It’s a conditioning mascara enriched with microfibres for a lash extension effect. The formula is buildable and helps smooth lashes for perfect shape and volume. This adorable mini is ideal for travel. Just pop it in your bag and dress your lashes whenever you want to add some impact and drama.
(limit of one gift per person while supplies last.)
