MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist Caitlyn Callahan may work backstage during fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, New York and London, but that doesn’t mean she can’t relate to real customers. “I think so many women get comfortable with their favourite shades, then get a little scared to move outside these colours.” So we asked her to give us the best complementary shades.

Try this: MAC lipstick in Snob

“This light neutral pink in a satin finish looks beautiful on tanned skin,” says Callahan. “But it also looks great during early spring. It adds some life to your complexion. I often use it as a blush or a stain.” She says this is the hottest lipstick shade in Brazil. “We can’t keep it in stock.”

Try this: MAC Mineral Shadow in Young Punk

“I love that this shadow has threads of colour through it. That allows you to go lighter or darker depending on what look you want. I like to wet my brush with Fix+ to increase the intensity of colour. It gives you even more options from one shadow.” She says you can apply with a soft brush or a stiff brush, wet or dry.

I must say, I am a sucker for sticking with something I am familiar with. It’s easy and it becomes routine. But this article is great as it has motivated me to be more adventurous.

I love my Ruby Woo lipstick. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and I can’t put it down. All MAC products are top notch. Another lippie I love is Flat Out Fabulous. I pair that up with Shock Value liner and it’s a winner.

I know this is an older story but just wanted to say the MAC Plumful is one of my top 5 lipsticks. I am never without of tube. It is a step above a MLBB color! It is one of a few colors that I have purchased again & again.
