Light Blue Summers!

Light Blue Summers: Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are heading back to the Aeolian Islands in the heart of the Mediterranean for their summer vacations this year. The rocky landscapes, lush greenery and pristine white sand beaches attract the fashion crowd who depart from Milan and Rome during the sweltering months of July and August. The location so inspires the duo that they created a pair of limited edition Light Blue scents last summer. Response was overwhelming and the pair have blended new editions for summer 2015.

light blue for her The first is Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sunset in Salina for her. Salina is a place of infinite sweetness. The greenest of the islands and the most fertile, this is where Malvasia grapevines grow that produces Sicily’s prized sweet wines. Fittingly, Sunset in Salina is a fresh floral that is light and elegant. The scent opens with notes of fresh vine and violet leaves. The heart notes unleash the sweetness and seductive charm of yellow freesia, orange flower and jasmine. The dry down is a warm embrace of ambery notes, cedarwood and musk. The packaging sports a breathtaking sunset of the island.

light blue summer for himSwimming in Lipari is the men’s edition for 2015. Lipari is the largest and most dazzling of the islands. It’s a lively place where the busy island life dances along the main street. It’s known for its sweet and spicy fragrances. Water is the dominant theme in this joyful fragrance for men. And aromatic water scent, it contains sea salt accord, grapefruit, mandarin, cool aromatic rosemary, ambergris, dry woods and musk. It’s masculine and refreshing. The packaging features the white, pumice-stone beach at Acqacalda.

Beautiful packaging. Reminds me of a day on the ocean. However, the lovely fragrance is for your sweetheart after the ocean. A perfect 10.
