Guerlain’s collaboration with Italian fashion house Pucci is stunningly beautiful.
French luxury beauty brand Guerlain has once again partnered with Italian fashion brand Pucci for an eye-popping limited edition makeup collection that is guaranteed to make you smile. The colourful couture collection was inspired by the iconic ‘Marmo’ print, a flamboyant interpretation of the ripples of the sun on the Mediterranean Sea. It was created by Emilio Pucci in 1968.
This is the third collaboration between the brands, both owned by LVMH. But it is the first under the creative direction of Camille Miceli, Pucci Artistic Director and Violette, Guerlain Makeup Creative Director. What’s different this time is that the pieces are very, very limited. Only a handful of the lipstick cases, bronzing palette, makeup brush and eye palettes will come to Canada (at Holt Renfrew) And the quality of the craftsmanship is unparalleled. These collector pieces look like fine jewellery in their production.
“I feel like it is a very powerful collection – from fashion to beauty,” explains Violette. “We worked from the Marmo print done by Emilio Pucci in 1968. It’s quite psychedelic. “I really wanted to pulse the Pucci energy, the tempo that triggers everything after that.
Because I think that’s the strength when two creatives work together is to be pushed somewhere that you wouldn’t go on your own. That’s why we ended up with so many colours.”
The new Rouge G customizable jewel lipstick features the Marmo print in all its glory. Violette has created an exclusive 45 Marmo Twist satin plum colour to mark the occasion.
The iconic Meteorites powder pearls in 02 Cool harmony are revealed in a new collector case featuring the Pucci print. A matching kabuki brush come in a couture pouch designed by the fashion brand. If you look carefully at the image, you can see the gold detailing lining each colour in the print and circling the cap. The quality is exceptional.
It’s not surprising to see some edgy shades in the Ombres G eyeshadow quartet. Black and white are contrasted with violet purple and a blue red. Again, the compact is a work of art.
And finally, no Guerlain collection would be complete without Terracotta Bronzing Powder. The best-selling 03 shade is delicately sprayed with rosy pearlisers and boasts the fashion print design embossed into the powder.
I can guarantee that these items will become collector’s items in the years to come. If you love any of the above, I recommend you call your closest Holt Renfrew store and ask to be added to the waiting list.
