Guerlain Golden Bee Eye Palette Giveaway
Olivier Echaudemaison is one of my all-time favourite makeup artists. As Guerlain’s Creative Director of Makeup, he designs every single makeup product, colour choice and collection from his beauty atelier in Paris. He’s worked with every major Royal family throughout Europe over his remarkable career including Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly. He’s the go-to makeup artist for royal weddings.
When you meet Olivier, you are immediately taken with his enthusiasm and passion for makeup. He can’t wait to show you his latest creations carefully explaining the process that led to the collection. Every single detail of the formula and packaging gets his approval before it arrives online or instore.
For this reason, Guerlain palettes are coveted by collectors. They can fetch high prices at online auctions from collectors around the world. One of my recent favourites is the Golden Bee Collector Eye Palette. It’s an ultra-slim palette that features 10 premium eyeshadows in matte, iridescent and satin finishes that allow you to create a wide range of looks.
“The whole joy of a makeup palette rests with its endless colour choices,” he says. “Here, we’ve played with matte, silky-soft and iridescent textures as well as warm and cool colour harmonies. That means that depending on the mood, daytime makeup can become shimmering and sophisticated with the simple addition of some eyeshadow swept onto the arch or inner corner of the eye.”
Olivier decided to decorate the top of the palette with a whimsical bee illustration on the matte gold. It’s a nod to the Guerlain emblem for over a century.
“I especially like the two colour harmonies that come out of this palette. The cool, with its pretty mix of pink, aniseed, plum and silver. And the warm, which gives center stage to brown, brick, bronze and gold.”

I’d like to say I’d keep it as a collector piece, but there is no way I could have something so lovely as pure decoration – I would have to use it, to wear every shade and enjoy each one – to quote Oscar Wilde, ” I can resist everything except temptation” and cosmetics don’t get much more tempting than this palette – could almost describe it as delicious, lol!
