Feature-Defining Skincare

Feature-Defining Skincare: If you’ve ever studied classically beautiful models and celebrities, you’ll notice that they share one thing in common: beautifully defined facial features. Most boast defined cheekbones and sculpted jaw line. Supermodels Linda Evangelista and Kate Moss are great examples of this. The Kardashians, beautiful in their own right, have taken this one step further by using makeup to enhance their natural contours. By carefully placing makeup and bronzer, they’ve created a global makeup trend in the process. It is actually Hollywood makeup artist Scott Barnes (who famously created Jennifer Lopez’s glowing look) that works with the Kardashian family for red carpet and gala appearances. He now travels the world hosting contouring master classes so you can learn how to recreate the Kardashian contours.

Estée Lauder has just introduced one of the most interesting skincare concepts of 2015. And you know they’ve been inspired by the Kardashians. It’s called New Dimension and it is best described as contouring and shaping skincare. The formulas work on every level of skin’s surface to create both visible volume and structure. The products find, flatter and reflect skin’s best features. Visible volume is added. Facial contours look more defined. Cheeks and jawline look more lifed.

“We’ve known that skin’s structure helps give skin the density and definition that is characteristic of youthful skin,” says Dr. Nadine Pernodet, Vice President, Skin Biology Research & DioActives, R&D. “But thanks to our latest research, we now know it’s critical to also improve visible volume to create a true transformation.”

new dimension serum

The star product is the New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum – a concentrated formula that helps define the look of contours to help lift the look of cheeks and the jawline by visible volume and structure. In effect, it is firming to give shape and adding volume to enhance contours.

The science behind the collection works on three levels. The first is enhancing volume through hyaluronic acid, fillagrin and lipids to help restore the look of natural fullness. The second is density and this is achieved through a pro-collagen complex that acts like the foundation of skin – creating a strong structure. Definition, the final level, works to support critical proteins to support the skin’s natural strength, lift and elasticity. Elastin helps improve skin’s visible firmness and bounce while fibronectin supports skin’s natural protein connectivity. Remember to use a broad-spectrum, high protection sunscreen daily to achieve the best results from these products.

new dimension liquid tape

Arguably the most unique skincare product of 2015 has to be the New Dimension Liquid Tape. It is a precision-accurate treatment that allows you to target where you want a tighter feel to key facial contours. That’s thanks to fast-acting polymers. It’s also fun. Who doesn’t want to try liquid tape on their face to get firmer skin in an instant?

Here’s why I like this new launch: One of the distressing facts of life is our facial features begin to change as we age. As collagen production slows down, we lose volume and structure. Skin starts to sag in our 50s and 60s. This has as much to do with accumulated UV radiation & sun damage as it does with genetics. For many of my friends, this has been quite traumatic. They say when they look in the mirror they don’t look the same. So any skincare line that helps address this issue to keep features and contours strong and firm as long as possible, is a great approach to me.

Estée Lauder New Dimension is available now at all Estée Lauder counters including Hudson’s Bay in Canada.

I am interested to know if this would work for those of us with hooded eyelids? Although I know it is iffy to use certain products on the eye area. I have seen some women use actual tapes that are designed for hooded lids to give them a crease. If this product is safe for eyelids as well and it works well then this would be a phenomenal product for women with hooded lids too!!
