Always a thrill for me to catch up with Marie-Hele Always a thrill for me to catch up with Marie-Helene Lair when she visits Canada. As scientific communications manager, she travels the world explaining the latest skincare advances and how specific plant extracts benefit the skin. I could listen to her speak all day. Her stories are remarkable. She says that the Clarins Research and Development team like to study hardy plants that thrive in the most difficult barren environments. The theory is these plants have built up a strength to resist cold temperatures, droughts, poor soil conditions. And that strength can often help make skin stronger. “Plants are so very, very smart,” she told me. “They have learned to adapt and thrive. Turkish jewellery designer Begum Khan has partnere Turkish jewellery designer Begum Khan has partnered with Guerlain to design one of the most exquisite fragrance bottles of the year. The artist took the iconic Bee Bottle, in a version painted in 24 karat gold and adorned it with a unique jewel, depicting an imperial bee at the centre of a radiant golden flower. The bloom is actually gold-plated bronze in an symmetrical design and the bee boasts 37 sparkling hand-set pave gems. It’s part of the ‘Exceptional Pieces’ collection and is named ‘Imagine Guerlain 2023 Millésime by Begum Khan. Only a handful are coming to Canada. Each is priced at $1,225.

It's hard to believe that it has already been 17 y It's hard to believe that it has already been 17 years since French fashion house Nina Ricci launched its iconic fruity-woody-floral fragrance Nina.
