Elizabeth Arden Marches On
One hundred percent of the proceeds of this limited edition Beautiful Colour Moisturizing Lipstick in Red Door Red will benefit the United Nations’ Women’s Fund!
This month, Elizabeth Arden will tap the spirit of its founder with an inspiring campaign called ‘March On’. The American beauty brand will unveil a limited edition Beautiful Colour Lipstick, autographed by spokesperson Reese Witherspoon, to benefit United Nations Women.
All proceeds will go to the charitable organization which works in priority areas that are fundamental to women’s equality: leadership & political participation, economic empowerment, ending violence against women, youth and peace and security. (unwomen.org)
Elizabeth herself participated in the suffrage movement, marching with the women of Fifth Avenue in New York to demand the right to vote. She noticed the suffragettes wore red lipstick so she provided them with Elizabeth Arden lipstick in Montezuma Red. She would be a champion of women’s rights for the rest of her life and became the first female business woman to be featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1946. Her contribution to the cosmetics industry was acknowledged in 1962 when the French government presented her with the Legion d’Honneur, France’s highest award for distinguished service that enhances the country’s reputation. She was fond of saying, “It is remarkable what a woman can accomplish with just a little ambition.”
