For summer 2016, the House of Dior is revisiting one of fashion designer Christian Dior’s most beloved stylistic motifs: the dot. Once a sign of summer wardrobes and garden party dresses, the dot has reappeared with regularity on catwalks around the world. Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup used the iconic dot as his jumping off point when creating “Summer Look 2016 Milky Dots” where sand tones and milky shades with the vibrancy of an ultra-pigmented palette. You’ll find the dot motif utilized in each of the collection’s limited edition cases.

The best way to describe the seasonal lip colours is to imagine shiny, pastel-hued lips as if they have just been dipped in a milkshake. Dior Addict Milky Tint cares for lips with deep hydration and comes in four shades from milky pastel to milky peach to milky pop. Lips are left with a refreshing wet effect. There are two new shades of the popular Nude Air Glow Powder: Fresh Tan and Fresh Light to create a healthy glow to the complexion.

For the love of polka dots, Dior has designed two new limited edition summer harmonies of its 5 couleurs eyeshadow palettes. Bain de Mer has a sunny aura with a splash of azure blue and sensual coral. Escapade plays up any tan with melon, bronze, pink and beige shadows.

Arguably, the highlight of the collection is the Dior Vernis and Dotting Tool to create polka dot manicures. Apply a coat of polish then dip the dotting tool into the second polish. Use it to draw polka dots of any size on your nails. Peter Philips personally chose the colour combinations: cherry and melon; azure blue and nude beige; and azalea pink and lavender.
