My husband bought me a seasonal red pashley bike for Christmas one year I was only alerted to it when the bell kept being rung was completely blown away he had chosen to pay for a special delivery for Santa to deliver it to me on Christmas day the take up was not there for them to be able to do it. Even so the thought and execution of the surprise was unbelievable.

My granny used to bake me a Gingerbread house with me and for me every year – none of her other grand children wanted one – she would do it all herself so no bought kit then – I would gaze at my gingerbread house for days and days. I never wanted much toys like the others, the Gingerbread house that my Granny made was special to me as she spend all this time with me. Time with a loved one is so important and I treasured that time I had with my Granny @lady_appaloosa

I used to work abroad and one year when I came home for Christmas the weather was particularly bad and all flights from Heathrow to Edinburgh had been cancelled.
My dad hopped in his car and drove all the way to Heathrow Airport, picked me up and turned the car round and drove all the way back to Edinburgh. That’s a 1300km round journey.
An amazing gesture which I’ve never forgotten
