New York fashion designer Tory Burch has just unveiled Sublime, an addictive floral-leather scent for her that took in excess of two years to create. The results are spectacular. Perfumers Rodrigo Flores-Roux and Christine Hassan layer notes of mandarin, urban ivy accord, peach, rose, osmanthus absolute and magnolia over a tethered leather accord, patchouli and vetiver essence. “Sublime is the ultimate way you want to feel: confident, bold, sensual,” explains Tory. “It is a word and an emotion that has no ending…It makes you feel like anything is possible.” She says unexpected notes create a unique, sexy dimension: the alchemy of leather blended with delicate rose, osmanthus flower, earthy vetiver and bright mandarin. “Sublime is beautiful, it’s sexy, it’s confident,” adds Kendall Jenner, the face of the new scent. “I love what Tory does and what she stands for. I want to align with designers who feel genuinely right to me, and this felt natural and organic.” What’s interesting about the sculptural bottle is that it is refillable or can be used as a vase. It’s an abstract interpretation of Tory Burch’s iconic Double T logo, turned into a curvilinear glass silhouette. The fragrance arrives in store and online this month. It’s definitely a must-try. She excels are dreaming up innovative formulas thanks to an extensive knowledge of skin tones, makeup techniques and the history of beauty. This is all evident in her latest launch, a cutting-edge liquid silk eyeshadow that is lid-smoothing, soft focus and matte texture. “In all my years of being a makeup artist, I was never able to find a matte finish creamy eyeshadow base that didn’t leave lids (at any age) looking crepey. With Liquid Silk, I have drawn on my experience and knowledge of colour and texture to curate five flattering, skin-compatible shades in a range of tones and intensities for the perfect elevated eye. Each has an immediate lid-smoothing, blurred effect on the lid,” explains Eldridge.     French fashion house Chloé is back this month wit French fashion house Chloé is back this month with one of its best fragrances to date. Chloé L'Eau de Parfum Intense is a sophisticated floral-fruity fragrance for her that blends notes of raspberry, rose, cashmeran and cedar to beautiful effect. Created by perfumer Michel Almairac, the composition has a soft sensuality to it, similar to the fashions shown during Paris Fashion Week. You'll notice the pleated bottle is updated with a berry-hued bow. #davelackiebeauty
    French luxury beauty brand Guerlain has once again French luxury beauty brand Guerlain has once again partnered with Italian fashion brand Pucci for an eye-popping limited edition makeup collection that is guaranteed to make you smile. The colourful couture collection was inspired by the iconic ‘Marmo’ print, a flamboyant interpretation of the ripples of the sun on the Mediterranean Sea. It was created by Emilio Pucci in 1968. This is the third collaboration between the brands, both owned by LVMH. But it is the first under the creative direction of Camille Miceli, Pucci Artistic Director and Violette, Guerlain Makeup Creative Director. What’s different this time is that the pieces are very, very limited. Only a handful of the lipstick cases, bronzing palette, makeup brush and eye palettes will come to Canada (at Holts) And the quality of the craftsmanship is unparalleled. These collector pieces look like fine jewellery in their production. “I feel like it is a very powerful collection – from fashion to beauty,” explains Violette. “We worked from the Marmo print done by Emilio Pucci in 1968. It’s quite psychedelic. “I really wanted to pulse the Pucci energy, the tempo that triggers everything after that. Because I think that’s the strength when two creatives work together is to be pushed somewhere that you wouldn’t go on your own.     The story of Clinique’s Dramatically Different M The story of Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion is a fascinating read.
