Catwalk Metallic Beauty Trend
Get ready for a new generation of silver, copper, bronze, platinum and gold. Metallic accents are strutted off the Fall 2017 catwalks and onto beauty counters in the coming weeks. But what makes them different is the technology behind them. While metallic shadows, lipsticks and liners in the past tended to be heavier and could crack, these new offerings are light as air and flexible. Here’s a look at the beauty trend:

“We describe this look as ‘girlfriend of a rock star’” – MAC Pro Team
Pro-tip: Dior makes it easy to create a backstage metallic look with its Metalizer Eyes & Lips boasts metal-effect pigments encapsulated in an ultra-creamy, quick-drying texture that feels weightless.
Pro-tip: At the Marco de Vincenzo show, pro makeup artist Marc Carrasquilo lined the upper lash line with a thin, straight eyeliner to define the eye. Each model received a unique colour combination, using two metallic hues to create a custom look.
Pro-tip: “Easy, arty and fun! Use gold as an accent in a free-spirited way,” recommends pro makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds. At the Alexis Mabille show, Lloyd mixed pigment in gold with medium eyeliner and then brushed it one using free strokes around the eyelid and inner corner of the eye.
Pro-tip: For evening, try applying a highlight of copper shadow on the upper eyelid.
