The trend: Brows that are whited out to almost disappear into the complexion

The event: New York Fashion Week S/S 16, Paris Prêt-a-Porter S/S 16, Milan Fashion Week S/S 16 and London Fashion Week S/S 16

For the past couple of years, fashion designers in Europe have favoured an otherworldly makeup look when presenting edgy fashion collections. The outfits are usually black or white so there is an emphasis put on makeup artists to make the models stand out on a catwalk in front of 300 journalists and buyers. Once the overly pale complexion trend became commonplace, artists took to whiting out brows. This made an instant impact especially when paired with a strong lip. Lady Gaga has experimented with this look on several occasions.
“There is a refreshing simplicity to beauty this season,” explains top makeup artist Tom Pecheux. “In both literal and conceptual terms: makeup artists are either making a decisive statement that pushes one element to the extreme or adopting a variant on “no makeup” as an equally strong and relevant style choice for SS16.”

June 17, 2016 at 7:16 amThis is SOO stupid, what is it supposed to be the opposite of the unibrow??? I’ve been around for awhile now and this just like the thick bushy brows we are seeing now will be gone in a few years and we’ll be asking what were we thinking? Just like the pencil thin brows of the 90’s seriously! When are we going to STOP letting “fashion’ or what I call ugly, tell us how we should look? I’ve had the same brows since the 80’s and guess what they are not changing! Why, because good grooming never goes out of style. That and I do not care what anyone else considers style! All I care about is what “I” consider style!
Good luck with the brows everyone! Mine have not, will not, and are not changing!
