It isn’t a stretch to imagine that a half dozen models took a quick dip in a hotel pool before sauntering down the catwalk at Fashion Week in New York, Paris, Milan and London. Watery-effect makeup, bronzed skin and wet hair washed up on a half dozen runways for Spring 2016. We saw the beginning of this trend last summer when YSL unveiled its Pop Water collection. Dior’s new Addict Ultra-Gloss has several shades in a “watery” texture.
Star makeup designer Lucia Pieroni created the pool-dipped makeup look for DSquared2 in Milan. She described the look as “sexy surfer girls”. The MAC Senior artists backstage massaged Studio Moisture Cream over the face to instantly hydrate and prepare. MAC Studio Face & Body Foundation applied over the face provided that warm, golden-olive glow to skin. Lashes were curled and followed with an application of Haute & Naughty Brown Lash, thick through the roots and lashes for a wet look. Clear Lipglass brushed through the brows also created that “wet” look. Lipstick in Freckletone was pressed into lips and followed with Bronze Shimmer Lipstick on top to highlight.
