Armani’s Face Fabric reimagined
To try ‘Face Fabric’ is to try on the perfect jeans: a signature fit, a ‘second skin effect’ and a beautiful extra matte finish with the perfect coverage
Brand: Giorgio Armani Beauty
City: Milan
Launch: 10 years after its creation, the Italian fashion designer revisits the lightweight foundation with an even better formula
The approach: Face Fabric is formulated like a stretch fabric that molds comfortably to skin creating an imperceptible veil that blurs away flaws in a flash
The technology: ‘Softlash Oil’ science provides glide-on application before evaporating to leave only lasting but comfortable coverage. Credit the 3D elastic ‘MicroFil Texturizer’ technology for bringing a supple, stretching polymer that slim-fits the facial contours, sculpting them to matte perfection. Translucent mineral iron and titanium oxide pigments melt onto the skin instantly fusing with the surface.
Shade range: choose from 12 shades from fair to deep ebony
Easy application: What is interesting about this formula is that it is designed to be easy to blend and build for just the right amount of coverage
The quote: “Face Fabric has a dedicated cult following, so many celebrities I have worked with love it and have it in their own personal cosmetic bags. It’s easy to understand why. It’s fantastic blurring properties, natural matte finish, and fool-proof application, make it a great everyday base, which doesn’t need a professional makeup artist to apply.” – Linda Cantello, Giorgio Armani International Makeup Artist

March 7, 2018 at 7:53 amI have a friend who has never worn makeup, because she doesn’t really need it. However, she’s now turning 70 and a light foundation would enhance her skin tone. This sounds like the kind of makeup that would work well for her… and for me too. I currently use Lancome’s Ultra 24H, but they slightly changed the formula. They removed a few ingredients to (I believe) make it more matte, and I can certainly tell the difference. It doesn’t spread as well or look as good on my skin like it did a few years back. I have oily skin, but I don’t like my makeup to be too matte. Too much matte can look cakey. I also don’t wear mineral makeups. They can also look cakey. I think a tiny bit of sheen (oil) makes my skin look healthier, more glowing. It also reflects the light and hides my imperfections better, so I don’t have to use as much concealer. In any case, I would really like to try this makeup, as I am always open for something better.
