8 Must-See Summer Palettes

 

When it comes to seasonal makeup collections, summer is my favourite. I’m constantly amazed at how beauty companies create bronzing palettes that look like works of art. I have a collection of Guerlain and YSL palettes from the last 20 years that I still find so inspiring. Holiday may be when we see the gold bling, but summer is when we really get to play with joyful colour. Here is a look at eight palettes that I think are really well done. A few aren’t launching until May but I wanted you to get a sneak peek.

Burberry First Love Blush & Highlighter Palette

 

The star product of Burberry’s “First Love” Summer collection, this palette allows you to highlight and add a pop of colour to cheeks. Last year’s palette with the Burberry hearts sold out in days which is why we are seeing it return for 2017. It is almost too pretty to use. Beautifully designed.

Sneak Peek: Clarins Bronzing & Blush Compact

This multi-use summer palette doesn’t arrive on counters until May 1^st, but I wanted you to see it first. It contains three matte shades of bronzer so you can customize the colour to fit your complexion. The orange blush can also double as an eyeshadow. We saw this same colour on the Mugler catwalk during Paris Fashion Week. What I like about this particular compact is soft-focus pigments and pearls optically minimize lines and imperfections.

 

Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder

Bobbi’s “Follow the Sun” collection arrives on counters in the coming weeks and these three bronzers are standouts. They really do combine the radiance of a blush with the illumination of a bronzer. Available in Antigua, Maui & Santa Barbara

 

NARS Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer

Francois Nars is a master of bronzing. He spends hours in the labs working with his chemists to create formulas that flatter all skin tones. This is his latest powdered bronzer launch that ranges from Seaside (light) through to Falaises (dark). I love the graphic design on the powder.

Giorgio Armani Sunrise Face Palette

Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani is taking inspiration from a cruise through the Mediterranean aboard a private yacht for his limited edition summer makeup collection. It’s called “Life is a Cruise” and this Sunrise Face Palette is the star product.

 

Guerlain Terracotta Sun Trio Palette

Guerlain is known around the world for its wonderful bronzing products. They are some of the very best you can buy. This month, we see a new sun-contouring palette that takes the iconic Terracotta classic formula but offers it in a matte finish. You’ll find a bronzer, a highlighter and a shadow palette along with a solar addictive fragrance that smells like a summer vacation.

Sneak Peek: Lancome Belle de Teint Palette in Patio Mediterranean

This spectacular bronzing palette launches in early May with the entire Lancome summer collection. But I expect it will sell out quickly. So you may want to add it to your shopping list. You’ll find two blush shades and two bronzers to create a custom look.

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer

Peter Philips, Dior’s Creative & Image Director for Dior Makeup has created a truly iconic highlighter. A simple dusting over your cheeks, top of the nose, forehead and jaw line adds a soft radiance. It makes you look more awake and healthy.
