Spring trend: a hint of green
The update: The fastest way to update your look this month is to add a wash of green – whether it be on the eyes or nails.
Catwalk inspiration: Christian Wijnants, Delpozo, Marques Almeida
Beauty brands: Clarins, Lancome, YSL, Dior, Chanel, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Clinique, Guerlain
The quote: “It all began with a stroll in a garden radiant with colour,” says Clarins’ Eric Antoniotti. “This flourishing nature was the inspiration for a fresh and luminous makeup collection with shades ranging from pastel pink to zesty coral, from woody taupe to pine green. Eyes are adorned in green this season.” Clarins’ Garden Escape 6-Colour Eye Palette offers a pair of easy-to-wear soft greens along with soft pinks, a gentle brown and an ivory for highlighting.
Runway take: Pro artist Inge Grognard took inspiration from the transparency and freshness from the clothing at the Christian Wijnants show in Paris. Green chromographic pencil was applied throughout the waterline for added strength and intensity. A wash of green was applied below the eye and a hint above. What made the green pop was the complexion and lip were kept neutral. This allowed the luminosity of the green to shine.
Hazel eyes: Green shadow works particularly well on hazel eyes. It’s also flattering on violet eyes.
Nail lacquer: Arguably the easiest way to update your look for 2015 is to add a pastel green nail polish. Look for a soft ice-cream shade. You don’t want to go too bright or bold.
Liner: If you don’t want to use green over the entire lid, wet your shadow and use it as a liner. That subtle hint of green will create a soft pop of colour.

February 2, 2015 at 12:48 pmDave, what products are used to line the eyes in the first picture? I have never been able to wear green eyeshadow (and I have brown eyes) but believe I could wear the seaform lining in the first picture. Thanks!
