5 Burberry Beauty Innovations for fall (& luxe giveaway)! The world of prestige beauty is ultra-competitive. Not only do you have the established brands such as Chanel, Dior, YSL and Giorgio Armani, but you have newcomers Gucci, Charlotte Tilbury and Dolce and Gabbana actively building their beauty businesses. One fashion house determined to become a global powerhouse in beauty is Burberry, the iconic British label riding a wave of popularity thanks to the direction of Christopher Bailey. He recently brought the beauty license in-house and is quickly ramping up innovation while linking beauty to fashion in a very direct way. He’s tapped UK celebrity makeup artist Wendy Rowe to execute his vision of “effortless beauty”. He believes that beauty should be quick and easy. Call it “disheveled elegance’.
Burberry Prorsum Fall 2015
With this in mind, Bailey unveiled a number of really interesting beauty products this fall that are worth a closer look. Here are five Burberry Beauty innovations.
Cashmere Concealer
First up is a fool-proof concealer that instantly erases dark circles, fine lines and awakens eyes. Thanks to light-refractive technology, fine lines and dark circles are visibly diminished. Anti-aging ceramides work to strengthen delicate skin and the texture feels like second-skin cashmere. What is unique is the sponge applicator that allows you to dab on just the right amount and blend instantly. It’s available in six shades from ivory to chestnut (which is very dark).
Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen
Call it “Glow to go”. This pen delivers a perfect dewy glow in seconds. It instantly highlights the top of the lip, cheeks and forehead. Apply it where the sun naturally falls on your face for a brightening effect. This is particularly good if you’ve had a sleepless night. You’ll look fresher and more rested.
Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen for Face and Eyes
Master the sculpting trend with this easy-to-use pen. It allows you to create the illusion of a slimmer face, lifted cheekbones and enhanced eyes. The ultra-glide formula is easy to blend and available in medium and dark shades.
Effortless Blendable Kohl Multi-Use Crayon
The Bollywood Kohl beauty trend was apparent at New York, Paris, London and Milan Fashion Weeks. From a thin line to a bold smudged look, kohl was used in dozens of shows. This highly pigmented kohl crayon blends smoothly onto the skin to create the perfect smoky eye. You’ll notice the texture is creamy with long-lasting pigment. Skip the jet black and try chestnut brown, golden brown, pearl grey or even elderberry. You can even use it as a liner along the lower lash line.
Effortless Kohl Eyeliner
This highly pigmented liner has been so popular, Bailey is adding four new shades for fall bringing the range to eight in total. Antique Gold is a standout and will instantly update your look for an evening party. Storm green will add a hint of colour. While blue carbon is a fresh alternative to black for evening. There is even stone which is a nice accent shade.
Burberry Prorsum Fall 2015
The giveaway: I gave away a selection of these five Burberry innovations to one lucky reader. I asked readers to tell me in a blog post comment what their favourite new Burberry Beauty product is. I drew the name Shannon in BC from all those who entered. Congrats Shannon!
