French Fashion House Givenchy is known for creating some of the most romantic and elegant prestige fragrances. From the rose-filled Very Irresistible to the dramatic Ange or Demon, what sets these scents apart is the quality of ingredients. You can tell at first smell that the perfumer has used premium notes and skillfully blended them to bring out their finest character. I had the privilege of spending a significant amount of time with the former olfactory expert at their head office in Paris and she explained how each scent has to adhere to the code and personality of Givenchy. Quality comes long before ad campaigns or social media programs.
Live Irrésistible, Ange ou Démon and Dahlia Divin are three of my Givenchy favourites.
Givenchy considers this the haute couture perfume of the house. You’ll see this reflected in the ad campaigns moving forward. This is an elegant woody fragrance with a keen refinement. The featured notes include:
- Mirabelle plum
- Jasmine sambac
- White flowers
Ange ou Démon Eau de Parfum
The dualistic nature of the name is reflected in the fragrance where perfumers Jean-Pierre Bethouart and Olivier Cresp played with contrasting textures and notes. It’s a charismatic Oriental scent with a strong woodsy base. The featured notes include:
- White cumin
- Maxillaria orchid
- Creamy rosewood
- Dense oak moss
- Tonka bean
Live Irrésistible Délicieuse Eau de Parfum
Amanda Seyfried describes this scent as a latte on her skin. It’s a sweet gourmand with a floral heart – idea for anyone with a sweet tooth. It was created by perfumer Dominique Ropion. The featured notes include:
- French pastry accord
- Orange blossom
- Bitter almond
- Orris root
The Giveaway: I’m gave away all three fragrances with a Givenchy black pouch to one lucky reader. We drew the name Marianna M from all entries. Congrats Marianne.
