Luxury Giveaway Winners Review, Comment and WIN!

Jane in BC sent a Pink Ribbon message (& won this set)

Send a Pink Ribbon message (& WIN this set) One of my very favourite beauty charity programs is the Estee Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign each October. It’s mission is to raise funds for and awareness of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the sales of special items by Estee Lauder, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, LAB Series, Donna Karan fragrances, etc. What I like about the program is that it is a sizable donation from the sale of each item that goes directly to the charity. By purchasing one of these products, you are truly helping to fund a cure.

I had the pleasure of meeting Evelyn Lauder years ago when she came to Toronto to launch the annual campaign. To be honest, I was expecting a corporate speech. But she was so animated and passionate about the cause. I was impressed. I’ve found the same experience when I’ve interviewed Elizabeth Hurley twice. These are individuals who care deeply about finding a cure for breast cancer. Sadly, Evelyn passed away from cancer but her legacy is helping millions of people around the world.

I’ve given away many of these pink ribbon products over the past couple of years and am always brought to tears by the stories of the brave women and families fighting this disease. There are so many affected by it and I so hope we can find a cure soon. I recently attended a Pink Ribbon luncheon where I heard a top researcher tell the audience that there are some very important discoveries that make us one step closer to a cure. There is hope and there are advances being made in science.

The Giveaway: I’ gave away this set of BCRF Pink Ribbon products set to one lucky reader. To enter, I asked readers to tell me in a blog post comment what their message is to all the women fighting this disease now. The messages are truly incredible. Thanks to all who shared their words of support. We drew the name Jane from BC from all entries. Congrats Jane

The message I wish I could have told my mum when we found out, and that I now wish to send to every single woman out there.

You are stronger than you know….. these moments are just mere drops in the ocean that is your life. They will pass and laughter will find its way back into your soul. And when this disease leaves you drained, leaves you so weak that you cannot brush your own hair or teeth, please know that that is OK!!! It’s OK to let us, the ones that love you more than we can say, it’s OK to let us help. We will brush your hair with all the love and gentleness we possess, and as it comes off with the brush we will cry with you and hold you surrounded in our love to remind you that those beautiful locks WILL grow back in time. And when you can’t hold down anything you eat, it’s OK to let us rub your back, to let us feed you the soup, or custard or ice cream or whatever food it is that you find comforting in this time. To all the women who have to fight this horrible disease, please know you are not alone. And while we cannot physically fight this battle for you, the ones that love you, we will be next to every single step of the way, holding you hands and surrounding your bright souls in love and light. We will lend you whatever strength we can and when you fall we will catch you and pick you up again.
    You are loved.
You are the strongest among us.
    You will get through this.
    You are a C-vivor

When you feel you have lost your inner strength talk to someone who has/is experiencing what you are experiencing. Hopefully, they can rekindle the desire to fight.
